SSC JHT Exam Pattern:
The Staff Selection Commission conducts the entrance exam for the recruitment of Junior Hindi Translator (JHT) in the administrative machinery of the central government. The SSC JHT exam pattern will help candidates prepare for the exam in a methodical manner.

Date of Paper 1 exam: 6th October 2020

Application fee:
- General/ OBC candidates: 100/-
- SC/ ST/ PwD/ ESM candidates: Exempted from fee
- The application fee can be paid online through credit or debit card or any other net banking options.
- The application fee can also be paid in cash at SBI branches across India.
SSC JHT exam pattern:
- The SSC JHT exam is conducted in 3 phases. These include the following:
- Paper 1
- Paper 2
- Personality test/ interview
Paper 1:
- The paper 1 of SSC JHT is a computer based online exam.
- The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions (MCQ).
- The exam consists of 2 sections which includes the following:
- General English
- General Hindi
- The medium of the exam is English or Hindi.
- The total duration of the exam is 2 hours or 120 minutes.
- The total number of questions that will be asked are 200.
- Each section has 100 questions each.
- The total weightage of the examination is 200 marks.
- The marking scheme is as follows:
- For every Correct answer: + 1 mark
- For every Incorrect answer: – 0.25 marks will be deducted

Paper 2:
- The Paper 2 of SSC JHT is a pen and paper based offline exam.
- The exam consists of descriptive questions.
- The medium of the exam is English/ Hindi.
- The paper consists of questions based on translation and essay writing.
- The paper consists of 2 passages for translation.
- One passage must be translated from Hindi to English
- The other passage must be translated from English to Hindi.
- The candidate must write an essay in Hindi and English too.
- Candidate who secure the minimum cut off as specified by SSC in Paper 1 will only be considered for Paper 2.
- The total number of questions asked are 4.
- The total duration of the exam is 2 hours/ 120 minutes.
- The total weightage of the exam is 200 marks.
