SSC JE Exam Pattern Details You Might Want to Know About

SSC JE Exam Pattern:

The Staff Selection Commission has released a notification regarding the recruitment of Junior Engineers in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts categories. The SSC conducts a recruitment exam for the selection of eligible candidates for the post of JE. The SSC JE exam pattern will come to the aid of candidates appearing for the exam.

The application form for SSC JE exam is available online only. Interested candidates can log in to the official website and fill in the application form.

Eligibility criteria:

  • The Interested candidate must be a citizen of India.
  • The Interested candidate must possess a B.E or B.Tech or Diploma in the relevant discipline from a recognized university/ institute.
  • Interested Candidates with work experience will be given preference.
  • Age criteria:
  • Central Water Commission and Central Public Works Department (CPWD) vacancies, the age of the candidate should not exceed 32 years.
  • Department of Posts and Military Engineer Services (MES) (Quantity Surveying and Contracts) vacancies, the age of the interested candidate should not exceed 27 years.
  • Other departments vacancies, the age of the candidate should not exceed 30 years.
  • Age relaxation is as per the rules laid down by the Government of India.
  • SC/ ST: 5 years
  • OBC: 3 years
  • PH general: 10 years
  • PH SC/ST: 13 years
  • PH OBC: 15 years

SSC JE exam pattern:

The selection procedure consists of the following:

  • Tier 1
  • Tier 2

Tier 1

  • The exam is a computer based online exam.
  • The exam consists of MCQ(multiple choice objective questions).
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours or 120 minutes.
  • The total number of questions asked is 200.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 200 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • For Every Correct answer: +1 mark
  • FOr Every Incorrect answer: -0.25 marks will be deducted.

  • The candidate must attempt questions based on their relevant discipline.
