SSC CGL Exam Pattern You Might Want to Know
SSC CGL Exam Pattern:
The Combined Graduate Level examination is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. The SSC CGL is conducted in 4 stages which include Tier 1, 2, 3, and 4. The SSC CGL exam pattern will come to the aid of candidates preparing for the exam.

The SSC CGL exam is conducted in 4 phases. These include the following:
- Tier 1
- Tier 2
- Tier 3
- Tier 4
SSC CGL Tier 1 exam pattern:
- The exam is a computer based online examination.
- The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions or MCQ.
- The exam comprises of 4 sections which include General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension.
- The total number of questions asked are 100.
- The total weightage of the exam is 200 marks.
- The duration of the exam is 1 hour or 60 minutes.
- The marking scheme is as follows:
- For every Correct answer: +2 marks
- for every Incorrect answer: -0.50 marks will be deducted.

SSC CGL Tier 2 exam pattern:
- The exam is a computer based online examination.
- The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions (MCQ).
- The exam comprises of 4 sections which include Quantitative Ability, Statistics, General Studies (Finance & Economics), English Language and Comprehension.
- The total number of questions that will be asked are 100 and 200 as per the section.
- The total weightage of the exam is 200 marks each.
- The duration of the exam is 1 hour or 60 minutes.
- The marking scheme is as follows:
- For every Correct answer: +2 marks
- For every Incorrect answer: -0.25 marks will be deducted.

SSC CGL Tier 3 exam pattern:
- The exam is a pen and paper based offline examination.
- The exam consists of descriptive questions.
- The medium of the exam is Hindi or English.
- The total weightage of the exam is 100 marks.
- The duration of the exam is 1 hour or 60 minutes.

SSC CGL Tier 4 exam pattern:
- The Tier 4 exam is a computer skill test.
- The test comprises of 2 stages which includes DEST and CPT.
- DEST is conducted to check the writing skills of the candidate in English. The candidate is required to type at least 200 words in 15 minutes on a computer.
- CPT is conducted to check the proficiency of the candidate in spreadsheets, word processing and generation of slides.
