The State Bank of India has released a notification regarding the recruitment of clerks in its various branches across India. The SBI clerk examination consists of 3 stages which include the prelims, the mains, and the local language test. The SBI exam is being conducted for recruitment to 8000+ vacancies.

Date of release of notification: 2nd January 2020

Date of start of registration of application: 3rd January 2020

Last date to submit completed application: 26th January 2020

Date of preliminary exam: February/ March 2020

Date of Main exam: 19th April 2020

SBI Mains exam pattern:

  • The mains exam is an online computer based exam.
  •  The exam consists of 4 sections, which include English language, Quantitative aptitude, Reasoning Ability and Computer aptitude and general/ financial awareness.

  • A total of 190 questions are asked in the SBI Mains exam.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 200 marks.

  • Each section has a time limit.
  • The candidate must attempt the sections in order specified and in the time allotted.
  • The subsequent section can only be attempted once the prvious one has been completed.
  • The marking scheme also include negative marking for every incorrect answer given.  
  • Incorrect answer: -0.25 marks will be deducted.
  • Question left unanswered: 0 marks
  • The medium of the exam is both Hindi/ English.
