RRB JE Exam Pattern:
The Railway Recruitment Board has released a notification inviting application for the post of Junior Engineer (JE) in the Indian Railways. The RRB JE exam attracts a horde of applications and presents a tough competition to crack. The RRB JE exam pattern helps to rationalize the preparation technique for the successful attempt at the exam.

Here are the details of the RRB JE exam pattern:
Date of start of registration of application: 1st week of February 2020
Last date to pay online/ offline fee: 1st week of March 2020
Last date to submit completed application: 2nd week of March 2020
Eligibility criteria:
- The candidate must be a citizen of India/ subject of Nepal or Bhutan.
- The candidate must be at least 18 years of age and must not exceed 33 years as on 1st January 2020. Age relaxation is as per the rules laid down by the Government of India.
- The candidate must possess a diploma/ degree in the specified discipline prescribed against the post in the official notification.
- The candidate must ascribe to the medical fitness standard as specified in the official notification for RRB JE.
RRB JE exam pattern:
- The RRB JE exam is a computer based online exam.
- The medium of the exam is as follows: English, Urdu, Gujarati, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Konkani, Odiya, Assamese, Bengali, Manipuri, and Malayalam.
- The exam is conducted in 4 stages, i.e., CBT 1 and CBT 2, document verification and medical test.
- The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
- The duration of the exam is as follows:
- CBT 1: 1 ½ hours/ 90 minutes.
- CBT 2: 2 hours / 120 minutes.
- The number of questions asked in the exam are as follows:
- CBT 1: 100 questions
- CBT 2: 150 questions
- The marking scheme is as follows:
- Correct answer: 1 mark each
- Incorrect answer: – 1/3rd mark will be deducted
- CBT 1 paper will have questions from the following subjects:
- Mathematics
- General awareness
- General intelligence and reasoning
- General Science
- CBT 2 paper will have questions from the following subjects:
- General awareness
- Physics and Chemistry
- Basics of Computer application
- Basics of environment and pollution control
- Technical abilities.
