NIFT Exam Pattern:

The National Institute of Fashion Technology is a much sought after premier institute of design run by the MHRD, Government of India. NIFT offers numerous courses that include Bachelors of Design, Bachelors of Fashion Technology, Master of Fashion Technology, Master of Design, Master of Fashion Management and others. Candidates have to attempt the NIFT entrance exam to gain admission to this prestigious course. The NIFT Exam pattern helps candidates to understand the pattern of the exam and attempt it in a systematic manner.

Date of start of registration of application: 23rd October 2019

Last date to submit completed application: 31st December 2019

Date of NIFT exam: 19th January 2020

Date of release of answer key: 22nd January 2020

Date of declaration of result: 13th March 2020

NIFT exam pattern:

The NIFT exam comprises of 3 stages. These are as follows:

  • General Ability Test (GAT) and Creative Ability Test (CAT)
  • Situation Test
  • Group Discussion/ Personal Interview
  • The exam is a pen and paper based offline examination.
  • Candidates are provided with OMR sheets to mark the answers.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The exam comprises of 2 papers.
  • The GAT test consists of 5 sections which include the following:
  • Quantitative Ability
  • Communication Ability
  • English Comprehension
  • Analytical and Logical Ability
  • General Knowledge and Current Affairs
  • The medium of the exam is English only.
  • The total number of questions asked for B.Des is 100 only; 150 question for B.F.Tech/ MFM/ M.F.Tech and for M.Des 120 questions.
