NATA Exam Pattern:

The National Aptitude Test in Architecture popularly referred to as NATA is conducted twice a year for students interested in pursuing a career in architecture. The Council of Architecture (CoA) is responsible for conducting the NATA exam. The NATA Exam pattern has been update by the CoA for the academic year 2020.

NATA is an All India level entrance exam. The exam aims at assessing the drawing and observation skills along with critical thinking ability and the aesthetic sensitivity of the candidate. The NATA exam is based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics studied at class 12th level.

NATA Exam pattern:

  • The NATA exam is a mix of online and offline exam.
  • The total number of questions asked is 53.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 200 marks.
  • The total duration of the exam is 3 hours 15 minutes / 195 minutes.
  • The NATA exam is conducted in 2 phases. These include the following:
  • Part A
  • Part B
  • The Part A of the exam is the drawing test.
  • There will be a total of 3 questions asked in Part A.
  • The total weightage of the Part A is 125 marks.
  • Part A is a pen and paper based offline examination.
  • The candidate has to answer the questions of Part A on an A4 size drawing sheet.
  • Part B exam is a computer based online examination.
  • The Part B of the exam will comprise of multiple choice objective questions based on Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics; Logical reasoning and general aptitude.
  • There will be a total of 50 questions asked.
  • The total weightage of Part B is 75 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct answer: +1.5 marks
  • There is no negative marking for any incorrect answer.
