MPSC Rajyaseva Exam Pattern:

The MPSC Rajyaseva exam is conducted by the Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC). The MPSC exam is conducted to recruit eligible candidates to the various departments of the state government. The MPSC Rajyseva exam is conducted on the lines of the UPSC Civil services examination. The MPSC Rajyaseva exam pattern gives a brief outline on how to prepare for the exam in a foolproof manner.

Date of start of registration of application online: 23rd December 2019

Last date to submit completed application: 13th January 2020

Date of preliminary exam: 5th April 2020

Date of mains exam: 2nd to 4th August 2020

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must possess a bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
  • The candidate must be a minimum 19 years of age.   

The MPSC exam is conducted in 3 stages. These include the following:

  • Preliminary exam
  • Main exam
  • Interview

Candidates have to qualify the MPSC exam stages to be selected to the various vacancies.

Preliminary MPSC Rajyaseva exam pattern:

  • The preliminary exam is a pen and paper based offline examination.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The exam consists of 2 papers, i.e. paper 1 and 2.
  • The medium of the exam is English/ Marathi.
  • The total number of questions asked in both the papers is 180.
  • The total weightage of the 2 papers is 400 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Incorrect answer: -1/3rd marks will be deducted.
  • Questions on decision making do not have negative marking and comprise of questions 74 to 80 in paper 2.
  • A candidate must secure a minimum qualifying marks of 33% to attempt the nest stage of main exam.

  • There are no optional papers in MPSC Rajyaseva exam.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions and descriptive questions.

  • Paper 4: General Studies
  • Paper 5: General Studies
  • Paper 6: General Studies
  • The medium of the exam is English/ Marathi.
  • The marking scheme includes negative marking of 1/3rd marks only in the objective questions.
