A youth festival with a difference that is what differentiates the Kerala School Kalolsavam from others. Conducted and monitored by the education department of the state government of Kerala, the Kerala School Kalolsavam was started in 1953 under the able guidance of Dr. C S Venkiteswaran. It is a seven-day long festival that sees thousands of participants from all over the state. The festival now has numerous cash awards, trophies and grace marks. The Kerala School Kalolsavam is held each year in numerous literary and art forms as a means to encourage children to pursue the literary and arts fields. The competition is open to students from class 8th to 12th to participate.

Each year, the Kerala School Kalolsavam is held in different districts of the state of Kerala for thorough participation from all corners of the state. The year 2019 will see the Kerala School Kalolsavam being held in the district of Kasaragod from 7th December 2019 till 10th December 2019. The main venue of the festival will be Kanjagad and the competition will be in the HS and the HSS categories.
