ICAR Exam Pattern:

The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) is a prestigious institution that offers a variety of under graduate, post graduate and other courses to interested candidates. ICAR conducts the All India Entrance Examination for Admission (AIEEA) for granting admission to various agricultural courses in universities and colleges across India. The ICAR exam pattern is essential in the methodical preparation of the AIEEA exam.

Date of start of registration of application: 1st March 2020

Last date to submit completed application: 31st March 2020

Last date of payment of fees: 31st March 2020

Date of release of admit card: 8th May 2020

Date of AIEEA exam: 1st June 2020

Date of declaration of result: 15th June 2020

Application fee:

Under graduate programs:

  • General/ UR/ OBC – NCL and UPS/ EWS: 750/-
  • SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender: 375/-

Post graduate programs:

  • General/ UR/ OBC – NCL and UPS/ EWS: 1100/-
  • SC/ ST/ PwD/ Transgender: 550/-

The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for conducting the AIEEA exam for admission to agricultural courses across institutes in India.

Under graduate course ICAR exam pattern:

  • The exam is a computer based online examination.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The medium of the exam is English/ Hindi.
  • The total number of questions asked is 150.
  • The exam consists of various sections which include Physics, Chemistry, Maths, Biology/ Agriculture.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 600 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct answer: + 4 marks
  • Incorrect answer: – 1 marks will be deducted.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 ½ hours/ 150 minutes.

  • The exam consists of MCQ (multiple choice objective questions) and cross matching questions.
  • The medium of the exam is English.
  • The total number of questions that will be asked asked is 120.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 480 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • For every Correct answer: + 4 marks
  • For every Incorrect answer: – 1 marks will be deducted.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours/120 minutes.
