The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) has opened vistas for people of lower strata and those below the poverty line to access the best means of education available. The Directorate of Education is responsible for releasing the notification for EWS admission 2020-21 class 2 to 9.

Date of start of registration of online application for EWS category: 14th March 2020

Last date to submit completed application for registration to EWS category: 25th March 2020

Date of release of 1st computerized draw of lots for EWS admissions class 2 to 9: 30th March 2020

Registration procedure:

  • The candidates can apply for the EWS category admission online on the website.
  • The following documents must be attached along with the application form:
  • Certificate of birth under the Birth, Death and Marriage Certificate Act 1969.
  • A proof of hospital/ auxiliary Nurse and Midwife register record.
  • A proof of anganwadi record.
  • A declaration of age by the parents/ guardians.
  • Proof of current residential address:
  • A copy of the ration card with the child’s name.
  • A copy of the domicile certificate of the child and parents.
  • A copy of the voter ID card of the parents.
  • A copy of the telephone/ electricity/ water bill.
  • A copy of the Aadhar card of the parents / child issued by UIDAI.
  • A copy of the passport of the parents/ child.
  • Proof of EWS:
  • A copy of the income certificate issued by the revenue officer not below the rank of tehsildar.
  • A copy of the BPL ration card.
  • A copy of the AAY ration card.
  • A copy of the food security card issued by the Food and Supply department of the state of Delhi.
  • Age limit:
  • Class 2: The child should be more than 6 and less than 7 years of age.   
  • Class 3: The child should be more than 7 and less than 8 years of age.  
  • Class 4: The child should be more than 8 and less than 9 years of age.  
  • Class 5: The child should be more than 9 and less than 10 years of age.  
  • Class 6: The child should be more than 10 and less than 11 years of age.  
  • Class 7: The child should be more than 11 and less than 12 years of age.  
  • Class 8: The child should be more than 12 and less than 13 years of age.  
  • Class 9: The child should be more than 13 and less than 14 years of age.
