DU Ph.D. Admission 2019:

The Delhi University offers 157 courses in 51 departments spread across the Delhi University campus for interested candidates in M.Phil and Ph.D. programs. One of the most distinguished seats of learning, Delhi University released a notification for admission to its M.Phil and Ph.D. courses on 3rd June 2019. Here are the details of the DU Ph.D. admission 2019:

Date of notification: 20th May 2019

Last date of submission of completed application: 31st May 2019

Date of entrance exam for admission to Ph.D.: 11th September 2019

Selection procedure: DU conducts a Delhi University Entrance Test or DUET for granting admission to interested candidates for M.Phil/Ph.D. The candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks to be eligible for admission to Ph.D. DU has granted a 5% relaxation in marks for reserved categories. The shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to get admission to a PhD program in the relevant subject.

SC/ST/PWD: 300/-

The application fee must be paid online through internet banking, credit/debit card or any other online mode available.

Type of entrance exam: Computer Based Test

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must possess a Master‘s degree or a professional degree (M.Tech./LL.M./M.D./M.S. degree) in the same or allied subjects, declared equivalent to the Master‘s degree by the corresponding statutory regulatory body, with at least 55% marks in aggregate (or its equivalent grade ‘B’ in the UGC 7-point scale or an equivalent grade in a point scale wherever grading system is followed) or an equivalent degree from a foreign educational institution accredited by an Assessment and Accreditation Agency which is approved, recognized or authorized by an authority.
  • The candidate must appear for DUET conducted by DU for admission. The merit secured in the exam will help in shortlisting the candidates who will be called for an interview.
  • Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including JRF)/ UGC-CSIR NET (including JRF)/ DBT-JRF, ICMR-JRF, DST-INSPIRE or equivalent national level examination/fellowship (as identified by DRC)/GATE/teacher fellowship holder may directly appear for interview.
