DRDO MTS Exam Pattern:

The Defence Research and Development Organization popularly known as DRDO functions under the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. The DRDO is committed towards conducting research and developing state of the art systems required by the armed forces of the country. The DRDO conducts regular recruitment drives for various vacancies in DRDO. The DRDO MTS exam pattern will help candidates appearing for vacancies in the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS).

Date of start of registration of application: 23rd December 2019

Last date to submit completed application: 23rd January 2020 till 5 pm

The DRDO MTS exam comprises of 2 phases. These include the following:

  • Tier 1 screening
  • Tier 2 final selection

Exam pattern:

Tier 1:

  • The exam is a computer based online examination.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The exam medium of the exam is English/ Hindi.
  • The exam consists of 3 sections which include the following:
  • General Intelligence and Reasoning Ability
  • General Awareness
  • Quantitative Aptitude and Numerical Ability
  • The total duration of the exam is 1 ½ hours/ 90 minutes.
  • The total number of questions asked are 100.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 100 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct answer: + 1 mark
  • There is no negative marking
  • The minimum qualifying marks to qualify the Tier 1 exam is 40% for general/ OBC/ ESM and 35% for SC/ ST candidates.

Tier 2:

  • The exam is a computer based online examination.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The duration of the exam is 1 ½ hours/ 90 minutes.
  • The exam consists of 3 sections which include the following:
  • General Science
  • General Maths
  • General English
  • The total number of questions asked are 100.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 100 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct answer: + 1 mark
  • There is no negative marking.
  • The merit secured in the tier 2 exam is the final score for selection.
