DIY Fountain – Great and Creative Fountain Ideas
Water is one of the essential elements that we humans can’t do without. Water brings a sense of calm and quiet to your living area. Many people prefer keeping aquariums while some keep water fountains. I love to play with things and make my own versions and this is one that I’m not missing out on!! A DIY fountain of my own is just what I’ve created for my home.
I’d like to share how I made this DIY fountain out of scratch in a day.
I love the subtle sound of water trickling down, somehow calms me down and has a soothing effect in my home.
Materials
- Large Pot
- Fountain kit
- Hardware cloth
- River rocks
- Bucket
- Wire mesh
DIY Fountain
Directions
- Drill holes in the bottom of the pot.
- Place a bucket inside the pot.
- Cut a square piece of hardware cloth to fit on top of the pot and bend it to fit properly.
- Cut a square opening in the middle of the wire mesh for the fountainhead and place it in the bucket.
- Fill the bucket with water and place the mesh on top.
- Wash the river rocks and place them on top of the wire mesh.
- Plug in your fountain and it is ready to use.

Materials
- Bamboo
- Large Pot
- Rocks
- Twine
- Fountain kit
Directions
- Cut down to size a few 3/4″ diameter bamboo pieces and bind it together with gardening twine.
- Drill a 3/8″ hole in the bottom of a bamboo artist brush cup/holder and insert a length of 3/8″ outer diameter flexible clear hose.
- Connect the fountain pump to it.
- Fix the bamboo cup on its side to the three bound lengths of bamboo.
- Hide the pump under the river rocks and let the subtle sound of the water heal your mind and soul.
I have meddled with these DIY fountain ideas and transformed the aesthetics of my home with it.
