In today’s world, where pollution and impurities have taken over, we all need something extra for our body and its safety. Some of the natural things like Aloe vera has been proven the best thing you can use on your skin or on your hair to keep them healthy, safe, and beautiful. There are many companies that sell aloe vera gels or creams but obviously, with added impurities which they call ‘conservatives or preservatives’. So, here I have a simple method to make a natural and 100% safe Aloe vera gel that you can easily make at home and apply it on your skin and hair. So, let’s get started and see how to make DIY Aloe Vera Gel.
You just need an Aloe Leaf and 500mg of powdered Vitamin C or 400 IU Vitamin E for every 1/4 cup of gel. This is optional if you want to add some extra nutrition to it.
Remember – before starting it off, just wash your hands as It’s important to start with clean hands and use clean tools to make sure the gel doesn’t get contaminated.
Cut off an outer leaf of an aloe plant. The outer leaves are more likely to be mature. They’ll contain plenty of fresh, healthy gel. Look for leaves around the outside of the plant, with bases growing close to the ground. Use a sharp knife to make a clean cut near the base
Drain the resin for at least 10 minutes. The resin contains latex, which can cause irritation on the skin.
Now after draining the resin, peel off the leaf using a vegetable peeler. If you have large leaves, it may be helpful to cut them into smaller pieces before peeling.
Scoop out the gel from the peeled leaf with a knife or spoon. The gel is whitish in color and is clear and soft. Keep it in a clean bowl.
Now, add some vitamin C or Vitamin E (quantity mentioned above) if you want it to keep for a month or two. Blend the ingredients well. The gel will look foamy at first.
Now, place the gel in a sanitized clean gel, now, If you used the preservative, the gel will keep for several months in the refrigerator. Without it, it will keep for a week or two.
