CSIR Net Exam Pattern:
The Council of Scientific and Industrial Research or CSIR as it is popularly referred to conducts the CSIR NET exam for award of Junior Research Fellowship and Lectureship for eligible and interested candidates. The CSIR NET exam pattern will help candidates prepare for the exam in a meticulous manner. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is responsible for the conduct of the exam on behalf of CSIR.

The CSIR NET exam will be conducted for the following disciplines:
- Chemical Sciences
- Earth Sciences
- Life Sciences
- Mathematical Sciences
- Physical Sciences
Date of start of registration of application: 16th March 2020
Last date to submit completed application: 15th April 2020
Last date for payment of application fees: 16th April 2020 till 1150 pm
Date of release of admit card: 15th May 2020
Date of CSIR NET exam: 21st June 2020
CSIR NET exam pattern:
- The CSIR NET exam is a computer based online examination.
- The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
- The duration of the exam is 3 hours/ 180 minutes.
- The weightage of each section is 200 marks.
- The CSIR NET exam consists of 3 sections Part A, B and C.
- All the three sections are mandatory.
- The exam does not have any break in between.
- The Part A is common for all subjects.
- Part A will consist of 20 questions on general aptitude and the candidate has to attempt any 15.
- Part A will be of weightage 30 marks.
- Part B will consist of subject related questions.
- Part B will consist of 20-35 questions and the weightage of the section will be 70 marks.
- Part C will consist of analytical questions to gauge the knowledge of the candidate with respect to scientific concepts and its application.
- Part C will be of 100 marks weightage.
- The marking scheme includes negative marking as specified.
