BITSAT Exam Pattern:

The Birla Institute of Technology and Science or BITS Pilani is one of the most sought after institutes by students wanting to pursue a career in engineering and allied subjects. For gaining admission to BITS, aspirants must attempt the BITSAT exam. The Birla Institute of Technology and Science Admission Test (BITSAT) is a university-level examination conducted for admission to various campuses of BITS. The BITSAT exam pattern and syllabus have been released for the benefit of all the students appearing for the exam.

Last date to submit completed application: 10th May 2020 till 1700 hours.

Date of BITSAT: To be held after 24th May 2020

BITSAT exam pattern:

  • The BITSAT exam is a computer based online examination.
  • The medium of the exam is English.
  • The exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The exam consists of a total of 150 questions.
  • The total weightage of the exam is 450 marks.
  • The duration of the exam is 3 hours/ 180 minutes.
  • The exam consists of 4 sections. These include the following:
  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • English proficiency and Logical reasoning
  • Mathematics/ biology
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct answer: +3 marks
  • Incorrect answer: -1 marks will be deducted
  • No marks will be deducted if a question is left unanswered.

  • For candidates who are able to finish the BITSAT exam before the stipulated time, BITS offers the option to attempt an extra 12 questions, provided that the candidate has attempted all the previous 150 questions in the exam.
