BEO Exam Pattern Details You Might Want to Know About

BEO Exam Pattern:

The Block Education Officer plays an important role in the implementation of the government’s education policies and other related fields. Most of the state governments release notifications for the recruitment of Block Education Officers or BEO’s. The BEO’s are recruited on the basis of written exam and personality test. The BEO exam pattern helps the candidates to prepare for the recruitment exam in a methodical manner.

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission has released a notification for the recruitment of BEO. The total number of vacancies is 309.

Date of start of registration of application: 13th December 2019

Last date to submit completed application: 10th January 2020

Date of preliminary exam: 22nd March 2020

Eligibility criteria:

  • The candidate must possess a B.Ed degree/ LT Diploma from a recognized university/ college.
  • Candidates with a minimum experience of 2 years in the Territorial Army will be given preference.
  • Candidates with a B certificate NCC will be given preference.
  • The candidate must be at least 21 years of age and must not exceed 40 years.

BEO Exam Pattern:

BEO Preliminary Exam Pattern

  • The UPPSC BEO Prelims exam consists of multiple choice objective questions.
  • The total number of questions asked will be 120.
  • The total weightage of the exam is of 300 marks.
  • The marking scheme is as follows:
  • Correct answer: +2.5 marks
  • Incorrect answer: – 0.33 marks will be deducted.
  • The duration of the exam is 2 hours/ 120 minutes.
  • The medium of the exam is Hindi/ English.

UPPSC BEO Mains Exam Pattern

  • The Mains exam will only be attempted by those candidates who secure the minimum qualifying cut off in the preliminary examination.
  • The mains exam is a pen and paper based offline examination.
  • The exam consists of descriptive and subjective questions.
  • The main exam consists of 2 papers, which include General Studies & General Hindi
  • The duration of each paper is 3 hours/ 180 minutes.
  • The weightage of each paper is 200 marks.
  • The General Hindi paper consists of the essay section where each candidate must write 2 essays of 700 words each.
